Resilient Media Project
Leveraging internet freedom technologies, the project provides tools and possible solutions to overcome the relevance challenges these media ventures face in repressive environments.
The primary objective is to enable journalists to serve their communities more effectively, reinforcing journalism’s essential role in fostering informed public discourse.
In each community we work in, we conduct research on civic information needs, remote reporting strategies, product development, secure content distribution, as well as trust, authenticity, and habituation.
The project seeks to identify and develop tools and methodologies tailored for exile and underground media organizations. The project will also develop case studies and models, including a comprehensive training syllabus for exiled or underground journalists.
We seek to reclaim a greater degree of press freedom even in the most repressive environments, contribute to ensuring greater dissemination of accurate and relevant information, and empower communities to better navigate their shared challenges.
Technologists and researchers are invited to share related projects through this form. Relevant projects will be included in a solutions map resource for newsrooms and considered for follow-up conversations on solutions and collaborations.
